Positive Pep Talk

..... Quick tips for keeping a positive attitude, even when you don't want to.

Being positive or having an optimistic outlook doesn't just make you feel better. It actually will improve your relationship with your family, friends, co-workers and it actually makes it easier to deal with everything from a bad day at work, to unexpected life change.

Developing a positive attitude isn't something you inherit - it's a skill that you have to learn. And let's be real, it's not an easy one.

Practise positive self-talk - turning negative thoughts into positive ones. Change the word "never " to "can". Tell yourself to find one small thing that you can do that will help, and things will get better. Remember, you have survived 100% of your worst days.

Spend your time with positive people. Moods are contagious. Louder for the people in the back.... Moods are contagious. Negative thinking spreads quickly.

Keep learning and growing. Learning new things gives you confidence. Try something new whenever you can and avoid telling yourself the " I can't " and my favourite, " I'm too old".

Make time for the things that make you happy. If it doesn't bring you joy... let it go. Spend time with friends, listen to music, or whatever. Make doing the activities you love to do a priority. Oh and LAUGH!! Don't forget to laugh, humour is the best stress buster.

Get Moving!! Exercise releases endorphins, the feel good chemicals in the brain. Boosting endorphins leads to an overall positive feeling in your body. If you feel good on the inside, it will show on the outside.

Have things to look forward to, whether its a weekend get away or as simple as a coffee date with a friend.

Practise gratitude. Spend a few minutes each day reflecting on the good things in your life.

What you put into the universe, is what always comes back to you.

xoxo
